the process so far: Week 5

1: drawing in of material- images, processes and things that might serve as metaphors for your interests.
2: bringing your material into contact with the printing process and reassessing its potential in the light of the possibilities presented by the medium
3: drawing as an idea. Using the process and material to consider the conceptual purposes of drawing.
4: Manipulation. Using the graphic tools available reprocess your visual material, look for distortions or alteration that might drive the idea forward

5. complete a work that explore the following issues:
- ground, what is the paper, how has it been chosen
- scale, this will be connected to issues of serialisation and repetition
- information, what does the drawing contain in terms of its presentation?
- character of drawing in relation to drawing's purpose
- use of the medium's potential, in either a formal or contextual sense.

This is the work that will be used in next weeks crit. Each student should present a single work and a folio of research material and development work for the crit. The material you present will be responded to in formative feedback.

The seminar room C will be booked for the purpose of next weeks crit students are asked to install work prior. The room will be open from 12 to allow this to occur.

Please post an image of work. (this should be something that you feel will likely represent the interests of your work discussed in the upcoming crit) at the same time include a short list of things you think would be worthwhile discussing in relation to your work next week. Consider what is relevant to your ideas, what would you be interested in the audience telling you.

NOTE: the crits of week 6 will be rapid fire and will require every ones attendance in the seminar room between 2pm and 6 pm
